Harvard Sailing Team
is a New York City sketch comedy group. The team has produced five full-length shows, "Tuck Your Shirt In", "...With Matching Topsiders", "Business Casual", "...On The Jitney" and "100 Years of Song And Dance".
The troupe was founded by Chris Smith, a graduate of NYU, and Billy Scafuri, who graduated from Hofstra University, but both of whom are from Rockville Centre, New York. [1] Harvard Sailing Team is Rebecca Brey, Jen Curran, Clayton Early, Faryn Einhorn, Katie Larson, Adam Lustick, Chris Smith, and Sara Taylor. Not one of them attended Harvard University, and none sail. [2] [3] They first performed in Merrick, New York. Dressed in argyle sweaters and Converse sneakers, they have headlined the National College Comedy Festival, The Chicago SketchFest, [4] Second City Toronto, SketchFest NYC, [5] Caroline's on Broadway, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, [6] and perform weekly at The PIT. They have also appeared on Sesame Street
. Their second appearance at the Charleston Comedy Festival was named Best Return Engagement. [7]
Online videos produced by Harvard Sailing Team have been featured on NBC's DotComedy.com, SuperDeluxe, CollegeHumor.com, FunnyorDie.com as well as national selections on MySpace.com.
Individually Harvard Sailing Team members can be seen in feature films, award-winning short films, and national commercials. Although comedians, many in the troupe are also experienced dancers, choreographers, and singers. [8]
