The Batsheva Dance Company
(Hebrew: ???? ?? ???) is an internationally acclaimed dance company based in Tel Aviv, Israel. [1] It was founded by Martha Graham and Baroness Batsheva De Rothschild in 1964.
From its inception until 1979, the prima ballerina of Batsheva was Rina Schenfeld, described by the New York Times as "one of the most important dancers of our generation." She and Rena Gluck were the company's principal dancers for many years. [2]
Ohad Naharin has been the house choreographer since 1990.
