Orlando Sharks Wiki Information
The Orlando Sharks
are a U.S. indoor soccer team that began play in the Major Indoor Soccer League for the 2007 - 2008 season. The team is owned by the Buena Vista Corporation, and will play at the Amway Arena, sharing the facility with the AFL's Predators and the NBA's Magic. The Sharks lost their first game to the New Jersey Ironmen, 7-4, on October 27, 2007. After starting the season with 16 consecutive losses, on January 18, 2008, almost 3 months after their inaugural game, the Sharks won their first game in franchise history by defeating the California Cougars, 16-13.
After the MISL folded, the Sharks announced that they would be joining the National Indoor Soccer League for its inaugural season in 2008-09. Lease issues, however, resulted in the team pushing back its NISL entry until the 2009-10 season.
