The Milwaukee Iron
is a professional arena football team based at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They began play in the af2, the developmental league of the Arena Football League, in 2009. The current head coach is Gary Compton, a former member of the Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League, as well as the 2001 AFL Iron Man of the Year.

History
The Milwaukee Iron were announced as an af2 expansion team in March
2008 when the team's ownership group announced an agreement to play at the Bradley Center. The announcement came the day before the
Milwaukee Bonecrushers kicked off play in the
Continental Indoor Football League at Milwaukee's
US Cellular Arena.
[1] The Iron signed the three-year lease in August 2008 to begin play for the 2009 season. The Iron and their in state rival the Green Bay Blizzard now have a rivarlry trophy. The Milk Jug (Name from Wisconsin being America's Dairyland) for the moment belongs to the Blizzard who swept the Iron in three games this year.

Milwaukee has been without an arena football team since the Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League folded in 2001 after not being allowed to play at the Bradley Center.
