The Magic City Classic
is an annual American football game featuring Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University played at Legion Field in Birmingham.

History
The first game between the two schools was played in 1924. It has been an uninterrupted, annual tradition since 1945 and played at
Legion Field in
Birmingham since 1946. After winning their fourth straight game in 2008, Alabama A&M took the lead in the series with a record of 35-34-3 all-time.

Other activities
Of the many festivities held in conjunction with the game include a parade and the "Battle of the Bands" between the respective schools'
marching bands.
In recent years, the Classic has attracted numerous
African-American celebrities; in 2008, these included actress
Vivica A. Fox and
radio personalities Tom Joyner and
Steve Harvey.
