The Fort Worth Flyers
is the name of a now defunct team of the NBA Development League minor league basketball expansion team based in Fort Worth, Texas. They began play in the 2005-06 season. The decision was made by the NBADL to not operate this team for the 2007-08 season.

Franchise history
The team began play in 2005-06 as the merger of the defunct
Greenville Groove and
Mobile Revelers. They were the D-League's regular season champions, finishing 28-20. However, they lost the Championship game to the
Albuquerque Thunderbirds by a score of 119-108.
The following season, they finished in third place in the Eastern Division with a 29-21 record, losing the Eastern Division semifinal game to the
Sioux Falls Skyforce 128-105.
The team didn't return to Fort Worth for 2007-08, as they were not able to make a profit. There is some talk of the Flyers moving to
Reno, Nevada, and of the D-League placing another team in Fort Worth, citing their close proximity to the
Dallas Mavericks.
Logo design
A blue capital "F" reminiscent of a
biplane over a basketball. The logo is also slightly similar to an alternate logo of the
Philadelphia Flyers. The only number currently retired (#11) is that of Jose Juan Barea for his back-to-back 40 point games.
