The Tijuana Dragons
(in Spanish: Los Dragones de Tijuana
) was an American Basketball Association (ABA) team based in Tijuana, Mexico. The team began play in the fall of 2004. They finished the 2005 season with a 10-16 record and a 7th place finish in the Red Division. They lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Utah Snowbears, 122-76.
The Dragons replaced the Tijuana Diablos
, who, like all Tijuana teams, followed that name.
Players during the 2005-2006 season were Abraham Keita, Andrew Ditto, Blair Labranche, Cameron Coford, Chris Fergunson, Dejuan Clayton, Enrique Alejandro Zuñiga, Fabian Valenzuela, Gene Shipley, Harold Arseneux (former Snowbears player), James Peterson, Marice Reddick, Rasheim Wright, Rodrigo Marquez, Taron Trahan and Tony Farmer (former Golden State Warriors player).
The team was one of about 20 teams to fold during the league's 2007-08 season.
