The Carolina Speed
is a professional indoor football team that played their first season in 2007. The Carolina Speed is scheduled to begin their third season in March 2009. They will play their home games the Bojangles' Coliseum.

The name "Carolina Speed" comes from the winning name of a contest held at the
Cabarrus County fair, as well as paying tribute to
North Carolina's
NASCAR heritage.
