Shawn Anthony
(Born Shawn Anthony Anderson Jr.) is an American fashion model, actor and musician. He is most known for being the first model of African-American decent to be the spokesmodel for an Aeropostale campaign and for his role in the 2006 stage roll in "The Insanity of MAry girard" in which he won a best supporting actor award from the Drama Desk.

Early Life
Shawn Anthony was born on August 24, 1986 in Houston, Texas. He was the third of 5 children. he graduated from Lee High School in Houston, Texas as a honors student in 2005 and earned a degree from the University of Houston-Downtown in Journalism in 2009.
Modeling
In 2007 Shawn Anthony was approached by Angela Mercer, an agent from
Ford Models while shopping. Within a month he was signed to the agency in the commercial division. he successfully landed a contract with Aeropostale as the face of the 2008 21st anniversary campaign. He walked in fashion shows for Christian Lucci, Derek Binz, Kira Plastinina, and Marc Ekco to name a few. In 2008 he left Ford Models to sign with Chosen Model Management. He then signed a short term contract with
Lot 29 to launch their urban campaign alongside
Jaslene Gonzalez. He then became a judge for the agency's New Model Search which was modeled behind
ANTMbut was targeted toward male models in which the winner recieved a contract with the agency and a spread in a local magazine. In March 2009 Shawn Anthony asked to be released from his contract with Chosen Model Management. He is currently not signed to a modeling agency. In 2008 he won a PFLAG/HATCH award for breakout model of the year.
Acting
As a high school student he was actively involved in the drama department, taking the stage in over 10 plays. In 2006 as a college freshmen he earned a role in the Masquerade Theatre's " The Insanity of mary Girard", a play which he had also done in high school. Although he only held a supporting role, his performance earned him a considerable amount of notability within Houston's professional acting community. He won a Drama Desk Award for best performance by a supporting player as well as a PFLAG/HATCH Award for outstanding work in the Theater field.
