The Phoenix Coyotes were formed when the Winnipeg Jets folded up in 1996 and originally started in the America West Arena, however, the America West Arena was not equipped for a hockey team and the city attempted to retrofit it in a haste, which led to many problems for the fans. One of the upper decks was configured in such a way that it obscured the view of nearly 1/3 of the ice, including one of the goals, and some of the seats actually made viewing impossible for nearly 3,000 fans. Capacity for the arena fell to 16,000 and the team quickly had to move to what is now called the Jobing.com Arena.

The Jobing.com Arena is a wonderful 17,534 seat Arena located in Glendale right next to the University of Phoenix football stadium, and the arena is home to several high tech amenities, food courts, ice cream parlors and you'll always hear and see the action during Coyotes games as several monitors and high tech PA systems keep the game going in real time.
