Reba McEntire was born on March 28th, 1955 in Kiowa, Oklahoma. She got an early start into the music business singing with her family members at a variety of locations throughout her youth. However, it was in a solo performance at a rodeo that country singer Red Steagall discovered her talent in 1975. She later sign a record deal with Mercury Records. However, her time spent with this label was more of a learning experience as her career didn't take off until the mid 1980's.

After her contract with Mercury Records ran its course, she signed with another label called MCA Nashville Records. They gave her a little more control over her musical styling and she reverted back to her roots as a country singer instead of pop. It was on her second album with this company called, "My Kind of Country," that landed her on the map. This album had two hit country singles on it: "Somebody Should Leave" and "How Blue." This would set her career on the path of a mainstream country star for the next decade and a half.

She would later branch herself into a multitalented star as she crossed over into television and movies. Reba starred in such notable movies as "Tremors," "the Little Rascals," and a remake of "Charlotte's Web." She also starred in a television show named after herself that ran from 2001 to 2007. However, her show was recently cancelled and she has taken the opportunity to once again pursue her passion for music full time. In 2009 and 2010, Reba released her newest albums called "Keep On Loving You' and "All The Women I Am."
