History
Pierce the Veil was formed in the fall of 1998 under the name The Early Times. After releasing a CD they then had their first breakthrough in 2004. After being signed by
Equal Vision Records the band released,
A Celebration of an Ending
under their new name Before Today. In the fall of 2006, brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes, changed the band name from Before Today to Pierce the Veil (a song title featured on their prior album), also displacing Joe Tancil (guitar) and Mitchell Ballatore (bass). The lineup is now Vic Fuentes (vocals, guitar), Mike Fuentes (drums), Jaime (pronounced as "High-Meh") Preciado (bass), and Tony Perry (guitar). Mike is a self-taught drummer and has been playing for years. He also raps on his
hip hop side project, MikeyWhiskeyHands, for which Jaime produces the instrumentals. Re-signing to Equal Vision Records, they released their second album entitled
A Flair For The Dramatic
on June 26, 2007. The song "I'd Rather Die Than Be Famous" from the album
A Flair For The Dramatic, was featured in the game
Tony Hawks Proving Ground.

They have toured with bands such as

Breathe Carolina,
Four Letter Lie and
Emarosa. They are currently touring with the Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour 2009, featuring

Vic and Mike Fuentes of Pierce the Veil confirmed to be included in the new project and
supergroup featuring vocalists
Craig Owens of
Chiodos and
Jonny Craig of
Emarosa.
Anthony Green of
Circa Survive was rumored to be in the new band, but did not show up in the lineup when the blog introducing the band as
Isles & Glaciers, was revealed.

In an interview with DJRossstar, Vic and Mike Fuentes announced they will begin recording their new album after the Taste of Chaos tour.
Pierce the Veil often mix in popular hip hop/rap and pop songs into their original songs during live performances. They often start their song "Yeah Boy and Dollface" with "
Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" by
Beyoncé Knowles and their song "Currents Convulsive" with "
My Life" by
The Game featuring
Lil Wayne. They have also combined "Currents Convulsive" with "
Bleeding Love" by
Leona Lewis, and many more. They are the only band that performs the unreleased song "She Makes Dirty Words Sound Pretty," live during their tours with
Jonny Craig, although the song is only credited to
Vic Fuentes and Craig.
In August of 2009, Pierce the Veil announced they are currently in studio recording new material for their next album.
