Radric Davis
(born c. 1980) [1] better known by his stage name Gucci Mane
, is an American rapper and CEO of So Icey Entertainment.

Music career
In 2005, he released his independent debut album entitled
Trap House
, which featured the successful single "Icy" with
Young Jeezy. However, disputes over the rights to this single eventually caused a rift between the two artists.
Hard to Kill
followed in 2006.
Gucci Mane was propelled to mainstream success with the release of
Back to the Trap House
in 2007, which sold 32,000 copies its first week. The album was fueled by the hit single "
Freaky Gurl", which peaked at #12 on the
U.S. Billboard
Hot Rap Tracks.
After ending another prison term, Gucci Mane began working on a mixtape called
Writing on Da Wall
and "Guccitendo". A new official mixtape "Guccimania" has some of his new 2009 singles featured on the mixtape.

Recently, he has appeared on remixes of the
Black Eyed Peas "
Boom Boom Pow" and
Mariah Carey's "Obsessed". He also makes a guest appearance on
Mario's "Break Up". He will be releasing his upcoming label debut album (currently untitled) tentatively slated for fall 2009, with the first single being, "
Wasted" featuring
Plies.
Arrest
Gucci Mane was arrested for possession of marijuana and an un-licensed gun, the day before his debut album was released.
Georgia prosecutors dropped the charges in January 2006 based on lack of evidence.
