Electric Daisy Carnival
is an annual electronic music festival held on the last weekend of June in Southern California, but has also been held in Texas and Colorado. In 2009 the festival was expanded to a two day event, which brought in over 140,000 attendees [1], making it the biggest electronic dance festival outside Europe. The Electric Daisy Carnival normally has numerous stages with sponsors such as Giant, So Sweet, Bassrush, Club Melodic, Beatport, Saturday Night Sessions, One Tribe, Rock The Bells, and Spaceland.

History
The first Electric Daisy Carnival was held in 1996. In the past, there have been many unique venues in Southern California that have played host to the annual electronic music festival. These include the
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Expo Park in
Los Angeles, National Orange Show Events Center in
San Bernardino, Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach,
Lake Dolores Waterpark in
Barstow,
Hansen Dam in Los Angeles, and
Tulare. The festival has had maximum capacities of 30,000+ and reached crowds of near 100,000 (40,000+ on Friday; 90,000+ on Saturday)
[1] recently in 2009, making it the biggest electronic music festival outside Europe. Insomniac Events have also brought the festival to other regions including Colorado and Texas. 2009 marks the first year that the festival is brought to Puerto Rico.

Southern California
Announced at Nocturnal Festival 2008 to be a two day festival. June 26th & 27th 2009. On Friday over 40,000 attendees were present and Saturday saw a crowd of approximately 90,000.
Electric Daisy Carnival 2009 was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and used the entire southern half of
Exposition Park.
Groove Armada, Thievery Corporation, ATB, Paul Oakenfold, Aly & Fila, David Guetta, Paul van Dyk, Kaskade, Benny Benassi, Mark Farina, Simian Mobile Disco, Infected Mushroom, Yoji, Kyau & Albert, The Crystal Method, Fedde Le Grand, Markus Schulz, Boys Noize, Diplo, DJ AM, Sander van Doorn, Cosmic Gate, DJ Marky, James Zabiela, Friction, Eddie Halliwell, Roger Sanchez, The Martinez Brothers, Dennis Ferrer, Eli Smith, Andy Caldwell, Joaquin Bamaca, and Subfocus all performed.
Colorado
EDC was held at the Arapahoe Fairgrounds in Aurora, Colorado on June 13 2009.
Puerto Rico
On June 24, 2009, the website announced that they will also hold an Electric Daisy Carnival for Puerto Rico on Friday August 14th. The venue has been confirmed to being The Arena Fairgrounds in San Juan.
The line-up for this Electric Daisy Carnival has been confirmed to include Underworld, Darren Price, Damian Lazarus, Mulattos, Plumpy Bitches, X-Man, Gulembo, Rabbit In The Moon, JFK(MSTRKRFT), Treasure Fingers, Adultnapper, Alkalina, Dwek, Dieselboy, Craze & Klever, Trixx, Cut Radio, Lady Liquid, Hugh, and Xtasys.

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Expo Park in Los Angeles, CA. Attendance was unexpectedly double that of the previous year, causing massive lines and long waits. (Attendance 60-70K) The organizers promised to reduce the wait for the next year.
