The Basilica Block Party
is an annual music festival held at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was first held in 1995 and drew more than 15,000 people, raising over $100,000 [1]. Attendance numbers have grown to more than 25,000 people who gather annually in the presence of the historic Basilica of Saint Mary [2].
2009 will host the "15th annual Cities 97 Basilica Block Party" on July 10-12.
Proceeds from the annual Basilica Block Party fund the ongoing restoration of The Basilica.

Musicians
The 2009 Basilica Block Party festival will take place Friday and Saturday, July 10th and 11th at the Basilica in downtown Minneapolis. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The musical line-up for Friday July 10th includes: The Black Crowes, Mat Kearney, Erin McCarley, The Jayhawks and Serena Ryder.
The musical line-up for Saturday July 11th includes: Counting Crows, Matt Nathanson, The Hold Steady and Tim Mahoney. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or at The Local, a bar in downtown Minneapolis.
The Basilica Choir came together in June to sing a rendition of "Hangin' Around" by Counting Crows, "She Talks to Angels" by The Black Crowes and The Hold Steady's "Lord, I'm Discouraged."
