Andy Zipf
is a singer/songwriter musician from Indianopolis, Indiana, and currently living in Northern Virginia . Often compared to Jeff Buckley and Richard Ashcroft, Zipf has been touring and playing across Northern Virginia for the last seven years and has quickly become a constant on the East Coast, playing over four hundred shows in the last four years, and self-releasing three EP's. Zipf's powerful voice and hook-ridden melodies have earned him a steady place on-stage and has earned him the right to open for bands like The Cold War Kids, Badly Drawn Boy, Joshua Radin, Delta Spirit, Evan Dando, The Ataris, The Wrens, Jeremy Enigk, Dave Bazan, Nicole Atkins, Sunset Rubdown and Mary Lou Lord.

History
In 2008, Zipf embarked on an ambitious project to combine music and film in a constantly changing live performance art piece known as "Pfriends on Pfilm." Performing in all white, Andy Zipf and one other musician played in front of a white canvass while a kaleidoscope of emotion-themed colors were projected onto their bodies by another artist. The show was taken across the country, and was seen in clubs, warehouses, and coffee shops.
Andy Zipf was among the first to call for a shift away from traditional music marketing business models, and has continually given away much of his music for free. In 2007, he was able to raise over $45,000 from his fans to produce "The Long Tail EP" and in 2009, he released "The Cowards Choir" on a "pay as you can" model from his website. For his music and marketing techniques, Zipf has been featured on The Today Show, XM Satellite Radio, was a panelist at
CMJ with songs appearing on different VH1 and MTV shows.
Currently, Zipf is recording and touring.
