Harland Williams
(born November 14, 1962) is a Canadian actor, comedian and radio personality.

Biography
Personal life
Williams was born in
Toronto,
Ontario, the son of Lorraine, a writer, and
John Reesor Williams, a lawyer and
Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario who served as
Solicitor-General of the province.
[1] He attended
Sheridan College, and worked as a
forest ranger for five summers before moving to
Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy. He has written and illustrated eight children's books on various topics including a brontosaurus named Lickety Split. He did a trip around the world with National Geographic.

Since his movie debut in

, he has appeared in numerous movies including

He has performed his
stand-up comedy numerous times at the
Montreal comedy festival
Just for Laughs
and at other notable venues. His stand-up routine is often odd, with random allusions to disconnected topics such as
the Koala and
KFC. He hosted the
Just for Laughs
television show for the 1995-96 season.
He was a favored guest on
Late Night with Conan O'Brien
for his quirky antics and apparent on-screen chemistry with
Conan.
In April 2007, he appeared on
Thank God You're Here
, where he won the Blue Door Award.
Rocker Parry Gripp of the
nerd rock band
Nerf Herder wrote a song in homage to Williams, entitled "I Wanna Be Your Harland Williams".

In 2001, He appeared on a special "Comedian's Special" episode of the
Anne Robinson hosted
The Weakest Link, being the first one voted off.
On March 26, 2009 he was a guest on the popular radio show "The Junkies" on WJFK.
He has appeared on
Tom Green's House Tonight numerous times.
