Amanda Jane Herrmann [1](born September 16, 1980) is an American model and actress, better known by her stage name, AJ Alexander . She was the Playmate of the Month for the May 2008 issue of Playboy magazine.

Early life

Alexander, who is of German, English and Native American descent ^[2], started performing in commercials for her father's putt-putt golf business when she was 9 years old. ^[3] she trained as a dental assistant. Eventually she moved to Orange County, California to pursue a full-time career as a model.

Career

She will make her film debut in the upcoming comedy American Summer , in which she plays a deaf DJ.

Playboy

Prior to being selected as Playmate, Alexander appeared in Playboy Special Editions Hot Housewives and Sexy 100 in 2007. ^[4]

During the shoot of American Summer , Alexander was encouraged to pose for the magazine by former Playmate Jennifer Walcott. Alexander sent in pictures to Playboy and was eventually selected as Miss May 2008. Alexander's pictorial has a NASCAR theme and featured her as a driver and a mechanic of a customized Nissan 350Z for Playboy Racing. Her pictorial and centerfold were shot by photographer Arny Freytag. ^[5]

Personal life

Alexander has 2 tattoos, one on her right wrist for the Chinese character of "love", the other is an off-center lower back tattoo of a butterfly just above her right butt cheek. She has 2 sons. She splits her time between her sons in Evansville and her career in California.
