Baltimore Memorial Stadium, where the Orioles and the Colts played, was getting old and dilapidated. When the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland both shot down renovations and a new stadium it was time to leave the city. In 1984, the decision was made and Indianapolis would get their own football franchise.

After the move, the Colts were would have rough times as they were setting up their team for the future. In 1998, the organization drafted Peyton Manning, a quarterback from Tennessee who became the face of the Colts franchise as well as the NFL. Peyton Manning and his supporting cast of dominant players like Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Dallas Clark, Dwight Freeney, and Gary Brackett helped the Colts win their second Super Bowl title in 2006 and have been the class of the AFC alongside the New England Patriots for the last decade.
